Drag the wipe and compare the original against the compressed result. Real KB saved, no upload.
This image converter changes a picture's format without uploading it anywhere. Drop a PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF or BMP, pick the format you want and download the result โ the conversion runs entirely in your browser with the HTML canvas, so your image never leaves your device. Common jobs: WEBP โ PNG for editors that don't read WEBP, PNG โ JPG to shrink big screenshots, and JPG โ WEBP to make web pages lighter.
Every compressor claims "70% smaller, same quality". Whether that's true depends on your image, and you can only know by looking. Drag the before/after wipe and you see the original against the compressed result side by side โ push the quality down until the artefacts appear, then step back one notch. The bar underneath shows the real saving in KB and per cent, measured on the actual encoded file, and it will tell you plainly when a conversion made the file bigger instead of quietly presenting that as a win.
PNG is lossless with transparency โ best for logos, icons and screenshots. JPG is smaller for photos but has no transparency (a white background is added). WEBP gives the smallest files at similar quality and is ideal for websites. We deliberately don't offer AVIF: no browser can encode it from a canvas, so every "AVIF" button in a browser-only tool quietly hands you a renamed PNG. For lossy formats the quality slider trades size for detail; 80โ90% is usually the sweet spot. The resize row caps the width, which almost always saves more than any quality setting: a 4000px photo shown in a 800px slot is wasted bytes.
