Enter your room size and the pack coverage to get how many packs of laminate or vinyl flooring to buy — waste included.
This laminate calculator tells you how many packs of flooring to buy so you don't run short — or over-buy. It takes the floor area (length × width), adds a waste allowance for cuts and breakages, then divides by the coverage per pack (printed on the box, often around 2.2 m²) and rounds up. It works for laminate, engineered wood and click vinyl alike.
Add about 5% for a simple rectangular room and 10% for diagonal laying or rooms with bays, alcoves and lots of doorways. Buy all packs from the same batch so the pattern and shade match, and keep a few spare boards for future repairs.
