Enter cost and selling price to see profit, profit margin and markup — or set a target margin to find the price you should charge.
A margin calculator turns a cost and a price into the three numbers every seller needs: profit, profit margin and markup. Profit is simply price − cost. Margin is that profit as a share of the selling price (profit ÷ price), while markup is the profit as a share of the cost (profit ÷ cost). They are easy to confuse — a 50% markup is only a 33% margin — which is exactly why a quick calculator saves you from underpricing.
Switch to target margin mode to work backwards: enter your cost and the margin you want, and the tool returns the selling price you must charge, using price = cost ÷ (1 − margin/100). This is the fast way to price new products for Amazon, eBay, Etsy or your own store without eroding profit.
