Free sheet imposition (pieces-per-sheet) calculator

This imposition calculator tells you how many finished pieces fit on a press sheet — the number that decides your cost per piece. Choose a parent sheet (A1, SRA3 or a custom size) and a finished size (A4, business card or custom); the tool tries both orientations, applies any gap between pieces, and shows the best fit with a layout preview. Classic answer: 8 × A4 fit on A1, because every A-size is half the one before.

Getting more out of a sheet

Rotating pieces, trimming the gap and picking the right parent stock can add rows or columns and cut waste. Printers buy paper by the large sheet, so squeezing one more piece per sheet across a long run adds up fast. Add a small gap if your job needs bleed or knife clearance between pieces.

How many A4 on A1?
8. A1 = 2 A2 = 4 A3 = 8 A4. The tool also does custom sizes and gaps.
What is imposition?
Arranging many finished pieces on one big sheet to print together and cut apart.
